Celebrate this Independence Day by trying these easy tricolor cooking recipes.

Festivals mean fun, frolic and, of course, FOOD!

As we celebrate 75 years of independence, it’s the perfect time to get cooking in the festive spirit.

So while you’re wearing the tricolor on your sleeves (literally!), give your inner epicurean a dose of shade, too.

Here are some easy tricolor cooking recipes that you must try.

To prepare a refreshing tricolor lassiyou would need three cups of curd, two tablespoons of saffron powder, two tablespoons khus syrup, three tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of cardamom powder.

Whisk sugar and cardamom powder with curd; divide among three bowls.

Add the saffron powder in one and khus syrup in another.

Pour them in this order into a glass: khus syrup curd, ordinary curd and saffron curd.

To make a tempting tricolor idly tray, you would need 175g idly dough, 10 g salt, 25 g spinach and 25 g carrots.

Boil carrots and spinach separately.

Add seasonings to both and mix to make purees separately.

Divide the dough into three parts, add the mashed carrots in one and the mashed spinach in the other. Leave the third dough intact.

Three slices of bread

Four tablespoons of besan

1/2 teaspoon turmeric

Two tablespoons of tomato ketchup, mayonnaise and mint mayonnaise

A teaspoon of red chilli powder

Salt and water as needed

Add ketchup to the first slice of bread, then mayonnaise to the second and mint mayonnaise to the third. Prepare a sandwich. Prepare a paste with chickpea flour, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and water. Dip the sandwich in it and fry it.

To make delicious tricolor dim sums, you will need the following ingredients:

A tablespoon of vegetable oil

A teaspoon of finely chopped garlic

1/4 spoon of vinegar and black pepper spices

1 cup cabbage and 1/2 cup onion

Two cups of all-purpose flour

Salt to taste

Orange and green edible coloring

Knead the dough with flour, salt and water. Divide into three parts. Add orange color to one and green to the other. Knead both and leave the third dough intact. Sauté the vegetables in the oil. Fill the dough with the vegetables and steam them.
