Clifford University, Ihie in Isiala-Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State is currently working on a research on alternative ways of preserving food including the use of leaves.
The research, when completed, will solve the problem of household food waste in Nigeria caused by erratic power supply.

The university’s vice-chancellor, Professor Chimezie Omeonu, revealed this on Tuesday during an initial university press briefing ahead of the convocation.
He said the university which will graduate 65 students at the event scheduled for March 28, 2021 is interested in exploring research in various fields of human endeavors for the good of mankind.
He said, “We intend to expand academic research in the field of medical sciences, especially in the aspect of nursing and midwifery.

“We also want to explore research in the area of skills acquisition and entrepreneurship to equip students with skills before they graduate from university.
“Our goal is also in the field of the study of law to equip students with the knowledge necessary to dispense justice in society.”

Omeonu stressed that the university, which is the second founded in Nigeria by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, does not compromise its position on discipline, academics and the safety of its students.
