Duffy’s Pub House will host its first Boozy Bluesy Bierstube Saturday July 10, from noon. The indoor kitchen will be closed, but Duffy’s two food trucks, Rock-A-Burger and Firechicken, will serve food. Blues artists from Mississippi legend Kent Burnside at the Boscoe France premises will perform. Tickets cost $ 25, but that gets you 25 cents in the Busch Light draft all day. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Highland Baseball Challenger League.

Ascension Saint-Vincent YMCA opened the upgraded community teaching kitchen. The first class will be on how to assemble a charcuterie board from Daniella Hodge from Sicilian submarinesThursday July 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets cost $ 60 and each participant will leave with a board that can feed four people with cheese, fruit, nuts and more. In addition, in July and August, Dr Meagan Brothers with Purdue Extension will teach a series of food preservation classes including how to make pickles (July 12), salsa (August 2), jams and jellies (August 16) and how to freeze produce (August 30). The cost of these courses will be $ 10.

Zesto on West Franklin Street is coordinating with the Vanderburgh County Health Department to host a COVID vaccination clinic on Wednesday, July 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with follow-up injections on Wednesday, August 4. Each person to be vaccinated will receive a small fry and shake.
