The former soap opera star will release his cookbook, titled Joe’s Kitchen, later this year – with fans being asked to shell out £22 for a hardback version or £14.99 for the Kindle edition.
Joe Swash may not be known for his culinary skills, but that didn’t stop him from landing a lucrative contract to publish a cookbook.
The 40-year-old former soap star was lucky to land a deal with Harper Collins to create a new cookbook – titled Joe’s Kitchen – which will be released in October.
The new book will include recipes prepared by the former EastEnders star and promises to contain “Fantastic food for a happy family”.
The Joe family man, who is engaged to 33-year-old Loose Women star Stacey Solomon and shares five children, including two-year-old son Rex and six-month-old daughter Rose, thrilled fans when he broke the news on Thursday.
Taking to Instagram, the father-of-three wrote, “I’m so excited to tell you I’m going to be an author! My brand new cookbook Joe’s Kitchen will be published by @pavilionbooks in October.
“The recipes in the book are for simple, tasty meals the whole family will love.”
He continued, “Sharing a great meal as a family is something that’s really close to my heart. I hope I recreate those memories for my own kids, and I’d love to help you do the same.
“The recipes in my book are for people like me who lead busy lives and want to do their best for those they love.
“I want to tell you what works for me and the tips and tricks I’ve been lucky enough to discover over the years. I’ve learned a lot and I know I can provide great tasting meals for my family without technical complicated or expensive ingredients.
Fans were quick to congratulate Joe on his deal, with one writing in response to his announcement: “Amazing! Congratulations Joe” – while another gushed: “I can’t wait! Well done.”
However, some fans have wondered how qualified Joe is to create a cookbook.
A fan stopped while scrolling to react to Joe’s post and typed, “Wait, can you cook?”
And another asked: “I didn’t know he could cook.”
Elsewhere, other fans have shared their fears that Joe’s ‘simple’ recipes are far from it, with one writing: “Are they actually simple? Not 32 ingredients per recipe. I found so many disappointing celebrity cookbooks.
Fans of Joe will already know he’s already shown off his cooking skills – as he was a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef last year.
The actor impressed the show’s judges, but ultimately didn’t win the series and was defeated by Paralympic athlete Kadeena Cox.
Joe’s cookbook announcement, however, sparked a mild backlash from dedicated fans who already know his fiancée, Stacey, is promoting pre-packaged meal company Hello Fresh.
One fan grumbled, “Stacey says they always use hello fresh because they’re really busy, but now he says he cooks these recipes because they’re busy.”
And another raged: ‘Baffled by this because Stacey has said so many times you don’t come near the kitchen and Stacey cooks Hello Fresh meals.’
Joe’s book retails for £22 for a hardback or £14.99 for a digital version.
The small earner is sure to boost the incomes of the Swash-Solomon household, as it was recently revealed that Stacey commands up to £12,000 per social media post when promoting a product.
