Speaking to her TikTok channel, the mom posted the video on how she stops annoying cases of casseroles bubbling while cooking.

Posting under the @kristyehmer domain, mum captioned the video “Life Hack, why didn’t I know until now.”

Revealing the hack, mom places a single ice cube in a pot of overflowing boiling water.

She said: “Someone said if you throw an ice cube in a pot that is boiling it will stop the foam.”

Adding: “So I wanted to try and see if this little life hack works.”

After discarding the ice cube, the foam immediately begins to reduce.

“Get out,” said the stunned mom.

In the comments section, the mom said she knew there were other ways to keep the pot from overflowing, but that way was the fastest.

“I’m aware that I could have just lowered the heat or raised the pan, but it takes a lot longer to stop the boil than it did,” she said.

The post, which has more than 1,700 views, was met with a spate of comments, with many suggesting it is using a wooden spoon as another hack.

“A wooden spoon works best,” commented one person.
